Skin Laxity is something that everyone will experience as we age regardless of how much we work out or how healthy we eat.
Incidence: Very Common
○ Occurs in everyone at some stage
○ Treatable by a medical professional
○ Lab tests or imaging not required
For skin to be tight, it needs collagen and elastin, which are two components of the layer of the skin called the dermis. Elastin and collagen are found just above the fat layer which lies beneath our dermis. When we begin to age, we lose these two vital components, so our skin starts to lose elasticity resulting in loose or sagging skin.
