Skin tightening comes down to various ways of heating the collagen in the skin. We know that if we can achieve a specific temperature of the collagen, we can get the fibrils of collagen to shorten, which results in tightening the skin.Genius treatments are a combination of microneedling and radiofrequency, which tightens the skin and does some smoothing and resurfacing. It is an excellent treatment for the neck and is our go-to treatment for acne scars.
SkinTyte and ThermiSmooth both use heat-SkinTyte with infrared and Thermi with radiofrequency to heat the collagen to a specific temperature and hold it there for some time. By shortening the fibrils of collagen, these treatments can tighten loose skin. A series of treatments is usually required, but there is no pain and no downtime.
Finally, lifting the skin without necessarily tightening it can be achieved using threads. We use dissolvable threads, which provide an immediate lifting effect of the skin, and as the thread dissolves, it acts as a filler and adds some needed volume to the area.
We’d be delighted to discuss these options with you at your initial consultation.
