Cellulite looks like irregular, dimpled skin on thighs, hips, buttocks, and belly.
Incidence: Very Common
○ More than 3 million US cases per year
○ Usually self-diagnosable
○ Lab tests or imaging not required
○ Chronic: can last for years or be lifelong
Cellulite is often genetic and is caused by "tethering" of the skin causing a dimple surrounded by a bulging fat deposit from beneath the skin. Weight loss and exercise can help improve the appearance of cellulite. Other treatments include radiofrequency systems and retinoid cream. These may need to be repeated regularly.
